solstice-ui, in ORC's theme

The building blocks of orcwg.org

Every page of orcwg.org is Markdown made of blocks: a hero, sections, cards, grids, tabs, buttons and live data from the Eclipse Foundation. This site documents them, rendered in ORC's theme: how to write them in MDC, their options and slots, the looks ORC gives them, and the page recipes the site is built with.

A block, in MDC

A page is Markdown with blocks: ::name{options} opens a block, #slot starts one of its named parts, and nested blocks take one more colon each. Every example in these pages renders the MDC below it, in ORC's theme.

Generic blocks, ORC's looks

The blocks come from the solstice-ui module, made for Eclipse Foundation working group websites: their documentation is the module's own. ORC's theme gives them their looks: the values of their look options, the notes on when to use them, and the site's own blocks.
    The module's documentation
What every block does, its slots and options, and the rules that keep a page editable in Nuxt Studio: the same for every site using solstice-ui.
    ORC's theme
Its colours, type and surfaces, the values of every look option, and its notes on each block, shown on the blocks' pages.
    Page recipes
How orcwg.org's pages are composed: a landing page, sections, content pages, listings and calls to action.

Where to start

Getting started
What solstice-ui is, its blocks and themes, and how a site uses it.
Writing pages
MDC, slots and options, how blocks combine, and the rules for pages Nuxt Studio can save.
Components
Every block, with live examples, its options and slots, in ORC's theme.
ORC's theme
Tokens, surfaces in light and dark, the looks of every block and ORC's own blocks.
Page recipes
The patterns orcwg.org's pages are made of, ready to adapt.
Theming
How a site themes the headless blocks: class maps, look options, colour modes and motion.

For AI agents

These pages are written to be read by agents building pages from the blocks: each one is also plain Markdown, with the options and the looks of ORC's theme written out.
